Workshop on women empowerment through agri-allied farming held

A one-day training workshop on women empowerment through agri-allied farming at the community hall of Haochong village under Haochong Block in Noney district.
The workshop was jointly organised by the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and Haochong Farmer Producer Co Ltd.
Notable dignitaries include Chuongsin Koireng, member, MSCW; James Pani, SDO/BDO Haochong Guijonang Bariamtak, Board of Director Haochong Farmer Producer Company Limited and Napolean Shaiza, project executive for CBBO under Central Agricultural University who graced the event as presidium members.
The program was reportedly organised with a vision to reach out to the womenfolk in far-flung hill areas to educate them and help them adapt to the knowledge of present scientific technology to improve their traditional farming and to increase production for a sustainable economy. Later, many resource persons spoke on different important topics during a technical session.
Notably Ramas Riamei, Manager SBI Noney spoke on "Financial Literacy Awareness"; Dr Poulinliu Gonmei, District Veterinary Officer on "Livestock Vaccination & Insurance" and Elvis Phaomei, Manager MRB Noney on "Saving Habits in Banks" among others.
