Southern Sporting Union to debut I-League 3 2024-25 against Charutar Vidya Mandal FC

IMPHAL, Aug 31 : Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei are all set to debut the I-League 3 2024-25 against Charutar Vidya Mandal FC at TRC Stadium in Srinagar on September 3.
The debutants were formally flagged off today for Sri Nagar ahead of the commencement of the fourth-tier National level club league tournament by Moirangthem Kunjabihari, former president of SSU; Sanasam Umananda, advisor to SSU; M Lokendro, former president SSU; RK Sanajaoba, former president SSU and Kh Ibopishak, president SSU.
SSU are clubbed in the Group E of the 25-team league tournament alongside Charutar Vidya Mandal FC, Corbett FC, Abbas Union Football Club and Downtown Heroes FC.
Before their departure, the team led by Karunajit as team manager and Kh Khogen as head coach, expressed optimism of a positive venture as they embark on a new level of competition on September 3 from 3 pm at TRC Stadium.
Assistant coaches Kh Inaocha and W Roshan, Dr Atom Lanchenba (team doctor) and B Sanahal (team official) were also among the 6-member officials leading the 30-member squad.
Notably, the squad include N Kiranjit (GK), Reagan (RB), N Kabiraj (LB), L Hillem (RB), Rojen Meetei (CB), A Nanao (CB), Y Joychandra (RW), Seityasen (RW/ST), L Kishan (ST), Nepolean (ST), L Roshan (FW), Th Premjit (CB), Y Suraj (LW),  Anil (RB), Bhumeshor (CB), Apu (RW), Jamson (CM), Nitish (RW), Robert (RW), Biken (RW), Monish (CM), N Kishan (CM), N Sushilkumar (CM), Roshan (CM), Md Mujakir (GK) and Kh Wangamba (GK).
SSU will play Corbett FC in their second match on September 5 at 9 am before playing Abbas Union FC on September 9 from 9 am and Downtown Heroes on September 11 from 3 am. All the matches will be held at TRC Stadium in Srinagar.
Keinou Library and Sports Association (KLASA) are the other team from Manipur competing at the same tournament. KLASA are drawn in Group D with Bhuna Football Club, Kenkre FC, Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC and Jaipur Elite Football Club.
KLASA will open their campaign on September 5 at KASA Stadium in Diphu, Assam against Bhuna FC from 2 pm.
KLASA will play Kenkre FC in the second match on September 7 before facing Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC on September 9 in the third match and Jaipur Elite FC on September 11. All the matches begin at 2 pm at KASA Stadium.
