Manipur bids adieu to outgoing Governor

IMPHAL, Aug 5 : The State bade farewell to outgoing Governor Anusuiya Uikey today in a ceremonial send off function held at the Raj Bhavan premises today.
She was appointed as Manipur Governor on 12 February 2023 and served in this position for a year and nearly six months.
The function was attended by Special Chief Secretary MH Khan, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Ashutosh Sinha and other civil and police officers, said a statement issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
General Salute was accorded to the outgoing Governor by a contingent of Manipur Rifles and IRB personnel.
The Raj Bhavan, Manipur also bade farewell to the outgoing Governor earlier in the morning today in a function held at the Darbar Hall.
On the occasion, officers, staff and security personnel bid adieu to Anusuiya Uikey and wished her a long and healthy life ahead.
Delivering her farewell speech, the outgoing Governor commended the cooperation and efforts of the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, other State machineries and CSOs to contain untoward incidents and restore peace and harmony amongst the various ethnic communities of Manipur.
She also expressed gratitude to the officers and personnel of Central Security Forces who made tireless efforts to save and relocate people from the violence affected areas to safer places.
While recalling her visits to various relief camps across districts, she expressed deep empathy and sorrow for the IDPs and prayed for their safe return to their respective homes.
She assured to continue working for a solution to the crisis even after leaving the State.
Meanwhile, Bobby Waikhom, Secretary to Governor lauded the efforts made by the outgoing Governor in restoration of peace and normalcy in the State after the ethnic conflict. He also thanked Anusuiya Uikey for her contribution in the development of Raj Bhavan and welfare of the employees.
