State trio to lead Indian junior and sub-junior girls' boxing teams

IMPHAL, Aug 26 : Three coaches from Manipur will be spearheading the Indian contingent for the ASBC Asian School Boys and Girls and Junior Boys and Girls Boxing Championship to be held at Al Ain City in Abu Dhabi from August 27 to September.
Oinam Geeta Chanu of SAI STC, Khuman Lampak is leading the contingent as head coach for National junior girls team while N Sangita of Manipur Sports Police Club and Ch Bijeta of Mary Kom Boxing Academy are coaches for the junior girls and sub-junior girls teams.
Notably, two young boxers from Manipur are also in the Indian contingent. The boxers who made it to the contingent are Ningthoukhongjam Robash Meitei (sub-junior boys 33 kg) of NSA, Khuman Lampak and Loitongbam Bidya Devi (junior girls 50 kg) of SAI STC, Khuman Lampak.
Robash is the son of N Romen of Yourbung Khunou, Imphal East district while Bidya is the daughter of L Ajit of Wangoo Ahallup, Bishnupur district.
The coaches and the athletes were part of the 15-day National camp that concluded today at IIS Bellary, Karnataka and NSNIS, Patiala, said Manipur Amateur Boxing Association while extending best wishes to the Indian contingent.
