God bless Imphal Heart Institute

Thank God for bringing such a prestigious hospital “Imphal Heart Institute” timely in Manipur. Come Sunday, 21st July 2024 with a mass blessing from my local Church laid my unconscious body on the OT bed at the mercy of Imphal Heart Institute located at Sagolband, Moirang Leirak. Sobering up from unconsciousness, I was amazed to find myself alive in ICCU ward, and Dr Athouba Arambam (Chief Cardio Thoracic and Vascular surgeon) with a smile on his face come and inform me the surgery was great success though my heart was in a very ugly state with coronary occlusion all around within damaging almost all the valves of the heart. The doctor assured me mitral valve being rightly replaced and Tricuspid and Aortic valves repaired and accumulation of unwanted particles being cleansed. Asto- nished and excited by doctor’s words, I just shook doctor’s hand and thanked God I’m alive. Imphal Heart Institute has given me ‘the living water’ and it seems I will thirst no more in life. And that’s why I would now consider Imphal Heart Institute located at Sagol-band as ‘The Living God’.
I am Raman Shimreithing, 44 years old male, a heart patient from Phalee Village, Ukhrul District. A decade ago, due to severe cough and pain in chest echo of the heart had been tested and found out that I had been living with damaged Mitral Valve on the left and the doctor told me the only option for my survival is to go to Guwahati for replacement of the valve.
In 2019, during the first Covid days in Manipur, I was admitted to CMC Hospital for scrub typhus and stayed there for 20 days with no sign of improvement. No proper medication was applied as medical doctors never turned up due to fear of the epidemic of the coronavirus. Dr Wormi, seeing my condition and out of sympathy right after echo-test of the heart was told that the only option for my survival is to go to Imphal Heart Institute located at Sagolband and I was immediately referred to Imphal Heart Institute ICCU. After treating there for 3 days with proper medication the scrub-typhus was completely gone. However, the worsening weakness of my heart continues. After being nursed there in ICCU for about a month I was discharged and the doctors told me to come back for heart surgery after regaining my health.
The year 2022 and 2023 considered to be as Catch-22 situation as I couldn’t take up surgery due to thyroid even when I was on the verge of collapse. I have to live on medication first in order to survive.
July 2024 came unnoticed and I was about to collapse due to heart failure. Fortunately, on Friday 19th July 2024, I was admitted to Imphal Heart Institute ICCU. This time my thyroid was gone. And fortunately surgery was done on Sunday with great success. Monday morning dawn in and God-fearing Dr Kh Jelen singh (chief cardiologist/director Cath.Lab) walked in with a smile shaking my hand and reminding me: God loves you Raman.
Financial help from friends, relatives and localities and CM Healthcare Card contributed during such hard times. Thank God for everything. And now that my heart was successfully operated, I would respect Imphal Heart Institute as one of the best hospitals with the finest doctors in the world. Had there been no Imphal Heart Institute here in Manipur, I would have been buried by now. I would like to thank Imphal Heart Institute in the name of God for giving me a new life, a new beginning and another chance in life with a renewed heart.
