Manipur off to flying start in Junior Girls' NFC

IMPHAL, Aug 11 : Manipur kicked off their group (B) campaign in the Junior Girls' National Football Championship 2024-25 Tier I with a 3-0 thrashing of Haryana at RDT Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
State girls had a bright start and led the opening half 2-0 against Haryana before adding another goal in the second half to make the final scoreline read 3-0. Nameirakpam Arina took the honour to open the scoring for Manipur after 31 minutes before Ningthoujam Olivia doubled the advantage five minutes later. The decisive goal was scored by Lourembam Menaka in the 75th minute.
Manipur will play West Bengal, who thumped Goa 4-1 today in another group league match, in the next match on August 13 at the same stadium. The match starts at 3 pm.
