PNM celebrates 37th raising day

SENAPATI, Aug 10: Marking a significant milestone in the history of the organisation, the Poumai Naotumai Me (Poumai Naga Women Union) celebrated its 37th Rising Day on August 9.
The official flag hoisting ceremony was held at Phyapou village graced by RB Pani, president, Poumai Naga Union; Asahrii Clement, president, Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (PNTM) and Delilah Pao, president, PNM.
The gathering was also attended by leaders, intellectuals, scholars, well-wishers and notable women leaders.
Delivering the keynote address, PNM president highlighted the history and genesis of the PNM. She paid tribute to the pioneers who formed the association in 1987, post-Operation Bluebird and remembered the sacrifices of leaders like V Martha and V Esther.
Meanwhile, RB Pani acknowledged the contributions of women in building a strong Poumai community.
The program was blessed by  P Veikho, Headman, Phyapou village and concluded with a closing prayer by deaconess Kh Chasei.
Notably, on the day, village women societies across all Poumai villages also organised events to discuss the importance of women's roles in shaping and uplifting society under the theme "Stand firm as women for justice". These events celebrated womanhood and "Poumainess", bringing together women from diverse backgrounds.
