IMPHAL, Jul 2 : SWC-Waikhong further extended their lead by three points at the top in the 21st Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament after 6 rounds as they drubbed LYA, Wangoo 4-0 this afternoon at DSA playground in Kakching.
SWC-W, having won five of five previous matches, started confidently and took a slender 1-0 first half lead before pumping in three goals in the second half to finish the game 4-0. H Tombi starred in the match scoring three goals alone as N Shangker scored one.
H Tombi scored the opener in the 25th minute to hand SWC-W the 1-0 lead before N Shangker doubled the advantage in the 59th minute.
SWC-W kept pressing their Wangoo rivals despite enjoying the comfortable lead and took a 3-0 lead in the 69th minute courtesy of H Tombi who completed his treble in the 73rd minute and sealed the 4-0 victory.
Earlier in the day, LMLCC, Langmeidong ran riot to pull off a huge 10-1 win over UBSA, Mantak.
LMLCC who had won once in the last 5 matches came out with all guns blazing and took a 3-0 first half lead before pouring in 7 more goals in the second half to notch up their second win in 6 matches.
E Birendrakumar (39', 50', 59') and E Avinash (46', 49', 78') scored trebles in LMLCC's comprehensive win as Ch Rojit (15', 40+3') and Y Avinash (73', 75') contributed two goals apiece.
The consolation goal for UBSA was scored by L Jetlee Kom in the 51st minute.
At the end of the 6th round, SWC-W are on top of the tally with 18 points above YWU who have amassed 15 points while UBSA are at rock bottom with 0 points.
