Huge cache of arms recovered

IMPHAL, Jul 26 : Security forces recovered more arms and ammunition during the course of a search operation at Kharungpat under Hiyang-lam police station today.
The search operation was carried out by a combined team of Kakching commandos, 33 Assam Rifles and 126 Battalion of BSF and  they recovered  one carbine along with a magazine, one bolt action 303 Rifle along with 10 live rounds, one 2-inch smoke shell, one SLR magazine along with five live rounds, one INSAS LMG magazine, five hand grenades, four live rounds of AK Rifle, six live rounds of 9mm, five detonators, four blank cartridges, two helmets, one bullet proof vest, seven rounds of 5.56 INSAS Rifle, two mobile phones without batteries and sim cards, two empty case of INSAS Rifle, two empty cases of AK Rifle, three empty case of .303 Rifle, four empty cases of SLR, two empty cases of .22, four double blast smoke shells, five smoke grenades, one green signal grenade, two anti riot rubber bullets, seven tear smoke shells and five tear gas stun shells.
The recovered items have been handed over to Hiyanglam police station.
