Kakching 2nd Division Football LeagueUCC edge KFC 2-1 to go top, WALYDA romp to 7-0 win

IMPHAL, Jul 20 : Uyok Chingya Club (UCC), Kakching  consolidated themselves temporarily on top of Kakching Second Division Football League Tournament Group B as they capped their group campaign with a 2-1 beating of Kakching Football Club (KFC) for the third win.
The day also Wabagai Awang Leikai Youth Development Association (WALYDA), Wabagai meanwhile romped to a 7-0 win over Ideal Youth Association (IYA), Kakching to extend their unbeaten run in three games that included two victories and remain in the hunt for the group's pole position with a game left to spare. Notably, group winners and runners will qualify for the knock-out stage of the tournament participated by 9-teams.
In the 7th Group A match of the tournament staged this afternoon, KFC who had won once in last two games, had the better of the start and raced to a 1-0 first half lead courtesy of N Druba who converted a fine chance in the 15th minute.
UCC however entered the field with more purpose after the restart and pulled level through Ksh Renedy in the 46th minute. With the game opened to both the sides with the equaliser, they kept looking to find the lead and when the game looked to end in a 1-1 draw, N Vero clinched the winner off a last ditch effort during the stoppage time (90+3') and broke the KFC's hope of earning a point from the game.
Meanwhile in the 8th Group A match that emerged too one sided, M Bishan scored thrice (7', 41', 56') for WALYDA as his teammates A Nailing (8'), M Dayananda (30'), and H Salaingamba (46') contributed a goal apiece. The other goal came up in the 36th minute in the form of an own goal by S Tomba of IYA.
SRDC, Kakching will play IYA in their last Group A match on July 22 from 1 pm before KFC meet WALYDA in their final league match from 3 pm.
