Kakching Second Division FootballKYWAC finish Group B leaders with 5-2 beating of PFC

Imphal, Jul 19 : KYWAC, Wabagai defeated PFC, Tokpaching 5-2 beating in the top of the table clash to finish Group B leaders in the ongoing 2nd Division Football League organised by District Sports Association, Kakching at DSA playground.
KYWAC, who were unbeaten in the previous two fixtures- one win and a draw, started the game on a bright note and were 2-0 ahead at half time before adding in two goals in the latter half that also saw PFC's Manithoi scoring twice to reduce the deficit.
PFC, who have emerged victorious in two of two previous games, also conceded an own goal in the stoppage time forcing them to go down 2-5 in the end.
It was Augdun Maring who opened the scoring in the 9th minute for KYWAC before Dingku scored one minute into the added time before the break (40+1'). After the restart, Andre converted a fine chance to further extend the lead to 3-0 after 51 minutes.
PFC who failed to capitalise on their chances for a major portion of the game pulled back a goal when H Manithoi made the most of a penalty in the 64th minute but KYWAC did not take it long to retain their three goal advantage as Jitesh on target the very next minute to make it 4-1.
The late stages saw PFC toiling hard to further reduce the margin and their efforts paid off as H Manithoi made his second two minutes into the stoppage time but their compatriot O Kaiku fumbled to net into their own goal to hand their Wabagai rivals a 5-2 victory.
With the result, PFC finished Group B runners up and qualified for the knock-out stage with leaders KYWAC.
In another Group B clash, KPSC, Kakching overcame TUC's late resurgence to win 5-2 and ended their league campaign on a winning note.
KPSC who suffered two back to back losses were unstoppable today and dominated the earlier proceedings to enjoy a 3-0 first half lead with James (6', 39') netting twice and Srinivash (27') contributing one goal.
After the restart, the Thonju team entered the field with more purpose and pulled back a goal through L Bishal in the 48th minute before L Punshiba further reduced the margin after 77 minutes.
TUC put in an all out effort in the remaining few minutes but KPSC defence however made sure to ward off their charges and saw out the game 3-2.
With the result, KPSC finished third while TUC finished fourth.
