Forum submits memorandum to Guv demanding resettlement of displaced people

Representatives of Youths Forum for Protection of Human Rights submitted a memorandum to  Governor Anusuiya Uikey demanding actionable steps for resettlement of displaced people with proper protection by the State in Jiribam, Moreh and Churachandpur.
Calling on the Governor at Raj Bhavan today, the team was led by secretary T Shadishkanta also called for full protection for paddy cultivation and paddy land in the buffer zones and to ensure investigation into pollution of the water sources and other issues related to the violence that broke out in May last year, as per a statement issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
In response, the Governor assured the representatives that necessary steps will be taken to ensure the resettlement of displaced individuals currently in relief camps. She also assured to address the ongoing crisis in the State and ensure a comprehensive investigation into the concerns raised.
