CAU hosts one-day review presentation for Social Science Research Thrust Area

IMPHAL, Jul 2: Central Agricultural University, Imphal organised a one-day review presentation for the Social Science Research Thrust Area at the conference hall of CAU, Imphal Headquarter.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal shared that the 13th Research Council Meeting and the 9th Extension Education Council Meeting was conducted on June 8 and 9 at the College of Agricultural Engineering & Post Harvest Technology, Ranipool, Sikkim.
The presentation given by the co-team leader of the Social Science Research Thrust Area at the council meeting was not satisfactory. Subsequently, external experts offered suggestions to improve the presentation.
Hence, the Review Presentation for Social Science Research Thrust Area was organised, he said.
He expressed hope that the experts present at the programme will leave valuable suggestions for the improvement of the presentation.
Meanwhile, Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director, Extension Education, CAU, Imphal said that the review will bring positive results and help address the shortcomings of the previous presentation.
He added that nine all India level experts are participating in today's review.
The program was also graced by the deans of 13 constituent colleges under CAU Imphal, members of Social Science Group, Chairman, PME Cell, CAU and other members were also present either physically or via online mode.
In addition, external experts on Agricultural Economics Prof Dinesh K Marothia, Prof Bidhan Chandra Roy and Dr Premchand as well as external experts from Agricultural Extension Education Dr P Das and Dr MM Adhikary also attended the program.
Prof Indira Sarangthemm, Director of Instruction,  CAU Imphal presented the faculty induction report.
Prof Ram Singh, Social Science Research Thrust Area (Agril Economics) team leader and Dean, College of Agriculture, Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya and Prof Biswajit Lahiri, co-team leader Social Science Research Thrust Area (Agril Economics), College of Fisheries, Tripura also gave presentations.
Many others also attended as rapporteurs.
