UMPC Manipur's oath taking ceremony held

IMPHAL, Jul 18 : The 1st Oath Taking Ceremony of United Meitei-Pangal Committee (UMPC), Manipur's newly appointed members for the term 2024-2026 was held today at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
Pesh Imam Qaari Qayamuddin, Senior Consultative Islam Makakmacha Lilong Masjid, administered the oaths to 28 new committee members including Alhaj Moulana Muheimuddin Moinam (president), Moulana Habibulla (finance secretary), Dr Badaruddin (advisor) and Raees Ahamed Tampak (general secretary).
At the event, Raees Ahamed shared that the UMPC Manipur was formed after much deliberation for the purpose of peace, integrity and eradication of anti-social elements.
He also highlighted that the Meitei-Pangal community have been taking active part in all the mass movements to protect the integrity and territorial boundary of Manipur.
He asserted that the Committee will provide all possible assistance to the internally displaced people who have been forced to take shelter in relief camps.
Further, Raeesh Ahamed mentioned that the committee will be focusing on steps to address the issues of drug & substance abuse among the youths.
