Kyoshi M Bankim, Renshi S Bindeshori become first international Kata judges from NE India

IMPHAL, Jul 17 : Kyoshi Mutum Bankim Singh and Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu have successfully cleared Kata Judge Exam conducted by the Asian Karate Federation becoming first from North East India to qualify as international Kata judges.
Kata Judge Course and Examination was conducted by Ai Zaabi from UAE, who is a member of the World Karate Federation's Referee Commission, along with Michael Huang of Chinese Taipei, who is the secretary of Referee Commission of the Asian Karate Federation on the sidelines of the 8th South Asian Karate Championship which kicked off on July 13 in Thimphu, Bhutan.
Mention may be made that Kyoshi Mutum Bankim Singh had already become the first international Kumite judge from the North East back in 2014 before Soibam Bindeshori achieved the same in 2016. Bindeshori is also a referee commission member of the Karate India Organisation as well as the secretary of women and sexual harassment commission of the organisation.
