Sit-in protest staged

JIRIBAM, Jul 1: A sit-in protest was staged against the brutal killing of Soibam Saratkumar Singh at Dibong Khunou community hall today.
The sit-in protest was staged as a part of the democratic protest declared by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Soibam Saratkumar Singh since the Government failed to materialise the terms of agreement between the JAC and the Government.
Speaking in connection with the protest, a protestor named Y Ragini Devi expressed discontent over the Government's failure to materialise the demands raised by the JAC in connection with the brutal killing of Soibam Saratkumar Singh.
It may be recalled that Soibam Saratkumar Singh, a resident of Sorok Atingbi Khunou in Jiribam was found killed in a brutal manner by suspected Kuki militants at a hill near Mulargoan hours after he was abducted.
Y Ragini Devi urged the Government to fulfil the demands of the JAC at the earliest and act in accordance with the wishes of the people rather than being indifferent to the grievances of the people.
She further pledged full support to all the future activities of the JAC until and unless their demands are met.
