Manipur State Council/Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) conducted local conferences at three Assembly Constituencies of the State, namely, Kumbi, Nambol and Khurai AC.
According to a statement issued by M Joykumar Luwang, Assistant Secretary, MSC/CPI,  the conferences were held to discuss the prevailing crisis and the current political situation in the State.
In Bishnupur, the conference was held at CPI Kumbi Local Council office at Kumbi Keithel.
Addressing the conference attendees, L Thoiren, state secretary, CPI pointed out that President Droupadi Murmu failed to utter a single sentence about the Manipur crisis which has claimed more than 200 lives, 5000 houses and displaced over 60,000 people in her speech as she addressed the joint session of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha since the formation of the new Government, delineating the activities to be undertaken by the new NDA Government.
"This is humiliating for the Manipuri people. It is akin to throwing the displaced persons into the fire that burned their homes", he maintained.
Stating that the presidential speech serves as a manifesto for the NDA Government, he opined that since Manipur crisis was not mentioned even once then it insinuates that nothing will be done for the State. He added that CPI will oppose such "unsavoury" behaviour from the NDA Government.
The conference was also graced by other prominent party leaders including, M Joykumar, K Bimol and K Jugeshwor.
