IMPHAL, Jun 26 (DIPR)
Health & Family Welfare and IPR Minister, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh inaugurated the newly constructed Trevi Hospital and Research Institute, at Langol Laimanai, Imphal West on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sapam Ranjan appreciated the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) scheme initiated by the Chief Minister to ensure cashless medical treatment to the people of the State.
"The Government is making efforts to ensure that the health scheme reaches more beneficiaries", assured the Minister while adding that the Government acknowledges the challenges of expenses faced by the people in medical treatments.
He expressed hope that Trevi Hospital will give a commendable service to the people and added that CMHT card holders can also avail cashless medical care at the hospital.
The Minister also pointed out that in Manipur, there are enough well qualified Doctors, who have previously worked in respectable institutions like AIMS, but people still have the tendency to go outside the State for treatment.
He expressed wonder whether the same is because the public do not trust the medical practitioners or if they have the ideology of "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence".
He further asserted that it is high time for the people to change the trend of going abroad for treatments.
As part of the event, Dr Sapam Ranjan also launched the website of the multi-speciality hospital.
The event was attended by Dr Bikramjit Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Trevi Hospital, Langol Laimanai, Imphal and Dr L Jaychand Singh, former HOD, Medicine Oncology, RIMS, Imphal among others.
