AR seizes arms, ammunition

IMPHAL, Jun 1 : Assam Rifles seized a large cache of arms and ammunition from Kangpokpi and Noney, today.
From H Champai village in Kangpokpi district, one 7.62mm AK 56, one 9mm carbine, two 9mm pistols (country made), one 4mm pistol (made in India) and two IEDs were seized along with a large quantity of live ammunition.
The operation was carried out by a combined team of Assam Rifles along with Saikul police personnel.
The seized arms and ammunition have been handed over to Saikul police station.
Meanwhile, Tamenglong Battalion of Assam Rifles recovered some carbine machine guns, pistols, explosive materials and ammunition from Tamlok village in Noney, today.
