State Level Boxing Championship 2024 O Gung, L Romance progress into elite men's semis

IMPHAL, Jun 16 : Thoubal duo of Okram Gung and Laishram Romance advance to the elite men's 60 kg and 57 kg semi-finals in the ongoing State Level Boxing Championship 2024 at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
In a 60 kg category elite men's quarterfinal clash, O Gung outlasted Pheiroijam Nonglen of Imphal East after L Romance defeated Yuhlung Eraingam Chothe of Bishnupur in a 57 kg category quarterfinal clash.
Joyshree Chirom of Imphal West (junior girls 57 kg), Herison Phurailatpam of Imphal West (youth men's 54 kg), M Punshiba of Thoubal (youth men's 57 kg), Yaikhomba Laishram of Bishnupur (youth men's 60 kg); Th Sneha of Imphal East (youth women's 48 kg), Elangbam Thoicha of Thoubal (youth women's 48 kg), N Luxmi of Bishnupur (youth women's 50 kg) and Yirmi Muivah of Ukhrul (youth women's 50 kg) secure quarterfinal victories.
L Uningba of Imphal West (junior boys' 46 kg) and L Ambekar of Imphal East (junior boys' 48 kg) also entered finals by securing semi-final victories today.
The day also saw completion of the final line up of various weight categories for school age boys and girls.
Pebam Joyhenba of Imphal East will face off against Thangmeishang Awungshi in the school age boys' 40 kg title. Joyhenba outlasted N Kishan of Imphal West in the first semi-final match today before Thangmeishang got the better of Bichy Soram of SPL-B in another semi-final bout.
In the school age boys' 43 kg semi-final matches, Leimapokpam Bikash of Thoubal defeated U Thouna of Imphal East and Khaidem Rudraksh of Kakching outlasted L Abung of Bishnupur.
In the 46 kg semi-final matches, Yangambam Srinivash of Thoubal defeated  Shingboy Makung of SPL-B and Rinngasung Vashi of Ukhrul defeated N Khengba of Kakching.
In the 49 kg category semi-final bouts, M Lanehcnba of Kakching defeated Thoihenba Ningombam of Thoubal and G Jekshon  of Imphal West defeated Worthyso Vashi of Ukhrul.
Gershom Awungshi of Ukhrul (52 kg), Kharibam Leishemba of Imphal East (52 kg), Kh Lamnganba of Kakching (55 kg), Karung Albertson Kom of SPL -B (55 kg), Kh Lanchenba of Imphal East (58 kg) and S Robertson of Kakching (58 kg), Y Abinash of Kakching (61 kg) and Kh Yaiphaba of Kakching (64 kg) also won their respective semi-final bouts.
Meanwhile, Lamameilu Gangmei of Imphal East (46 kg), Sarangthem Linthoi of Imphal East (49 kg), K Diviyabati of Thoubal (49 kg), Th Prity of Thoubal (52 kg), L Sujen Devi of Imphal West (52 kg) also progressed into the finals of their respective weight categories in the school age girls' competition.
