Drivers body seeks help

IMPHAL, Jun 10: The All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union has appealed to the Government to extend aid to the civilian driver who sustained bullet injury when Kuki militants attacked a convoy of advance security team near K Sinam village.
Moirangthem Ajesh alias Bobo is a civilian driver and he was requisitioned by the security  team for their trip to Jiribam, said All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union general secretary Maimom Anil.
He also condemned the attack in the strongest terms.
Saying that the union has been extending all possible assistance towards treatment of the Ajesh alias Bobo,  Anil expressed hope that the Government too would extend assistance towards the treatment of the injured driver until he is able to work again.
Anil also conveyed gratitude to the Chief Minister for visiting the injured driver at Shija Hospital.
He also appealed to all the people not to politicise the incident which may dishearten the driver fraternity.
