IMPHAL, May 30 : Amid the devastating situation in Manipur brought by Cyclone Remal, some areas have been gripped by power outage and consumers in these areas are unlikely to get power supply for some days
The Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) has informed that some of the areas covered by its 33/11 KV sub-stations are facing power outage due to the current weather.
MSPCL, in a statement, said that areas covered by Sekmai sub-station, Kang-pokpi sub-station, Gampha- zol sub-station, Mayang-khang sub-station, Gelnel sub-station, Tamei sub-station and Lakhamai sub- station are facing power outage because of the failure of the 33 KV transmission lines feeding these sub-stations.
Saying that various poles were found damaged and washed away by the increased water level along Imphal River and the heavy rainfall and landslides caused by Cyclone Remal, the MSPCL added that repairing of the poles will only be possible when the water level subsides and roads become accessible.
All the consumers of the seven sub-stations have been requested to bear the inconvenience for some days.
