NISA edge LYCC 2-1 to lift 16th Manipur State League title

IMPHAL, May 22 : NISA, Thangmeiband defeated Liwachangning Youth Cultural Club (LYCC), Chandel by 2-1 goals to secure the title of the 16th Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association.
It were first half goals that inspired NISA the title win here at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong this afternoon against LYCC.
NISA dominated the earlier proceedings and pressed LYCC for openings and their efforts paid off after 35 minutes with Sharangthem Rajdan converting a fine chance before Sagolshem Deepak doubled the advantage in the 43rd minute.
LYCC, who had been reeling under pressure, fought back after the restart and halved the deficit courtesy of a penalty converted by Laishram Monish in the 51st minute.
LYCC however failed to sustain their momentum and NISA managed to fend off further danger from their rivals while threatening occasionally to see off the game on a winning note.
