Outreach programme on SVEEP conducted

A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised at T.S. Paul Manipur Women’s College, Mongshangei, Imphal West district today.
The ICOP was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, said a release.
The programme was attended by Dr N Urmila Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Ksh Deben Singh, senior most teacher of the college as presidium members.
At the event, Dr N Urmila Devi stressed on ethical and informed voting to bridge the gap between the electors and the Government.
Topics like KYC App, cVIGIL App, Saksham App, toll-free number 1950, EVM and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), universal adult franchise and voter’s registration were also discussed during the programme.
An on-the-spot quiz contest was also held and mementoes along with certificates were handed over to the winners. Certificates of participation were also distributed to the first time voters.
Private registered troupe of CBC, RO, Imphal namely M/s Kangjabi Meitei Chanu Artistes cum Drama Association, Khurai presented a theme based drama called “Mihut Khanba”.
