IMPHAL, Mar 10 : Joining the rest of the world, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Manipur State Branch yesterday celebrated International Women's Day by organising a medical camp at Khwairamband Ema Keithel, Imphal.
The programme was attended by Dr O Sanahanbi Devi, Director, Health Services, Government of Manipur; Prof (Dr) RK Lenin Singh, president IMA Manipur State Branch; Dr James Elangbam, secretary IMA Manipur State Branch; Dr Kh Ranjan Devi, chairperson Women Doctors Wing, IMA Manipur State Branch and Laishram Memma Devi as presidium members.
Women vendors of Khwairamband Keithel were examined for various health care concerns during the camp by a team of doctors and staff from Government & Private Hospitals.
The medical team also provided various services including free screening of high blood pressure (BP) & diabetes, hemoglobin test, etc along with medicines for free.
At the event, the dignitaries lauded the significant contributions of women in the overall development of the society.
They also shared that the International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
