Dr Alyson Abonmei assures to sponsor travel expenses of boxers

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : Dr Alyson Abonmei, intending candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the Lok Sabha election 2024, has announced to sponsor the travel expenses of Sub Junior Boys & Girls boxing team of Manipur and coaches going to Noida and Haryana to take part in national championships.
He made the announcement today during an Exhortation Programme organised by Chingtam Women's Development Association at Catholic Retreat Center in Mantripukhri for the boxing team.
Dr Alyson continued that due to the prevailing situation of Manipur, many athletes/ sports-persons are facing a lot of difficulties to make travel arrangements to participate in various national & international events.
He shared that he decided to sponsor the travel cost of the boxing team to encourage the young boxers who will represent the State in various competitions.
Dr Alyson also exhorted the athletes/ sports-persons to focus on their practice and work hard to bring laurels to the State.
Khurai Ahongei Thangjam Leikai Nupi Kanglup president Wahengbam Suriti and Chingtam Women's Development Association president Nunglepam Kunjeshori also attended the programme.
