CoA, CAU, Imphal wins ‘Best Institutional Film Award’

IMPHAL, Feb 22 : The College of Agriculture (CoA), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal, has won the ‘Best Institutional Film Award’ at the Agri Film Festival organised by National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.
The award along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 was received by Prof Indira Sarangthem, Dean, CoA, Iroisemba and Dr Shravan M Haldhar, Head, Department of Entomology, CoA, CAU, Imphal during a function held on February 22, 2024.
The ceremony was attended by Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India and Dr P Chandra Shekhar, Director General, MANAGE as presidium members.
The CoA, CAU, Imphal had submitted 3 videos as 'Transferring Wetland to Farming Land in Manipur', 'Money from Honey: Entrepreneurship for Rural Youth' and 'Success Story on Biological Control Future for Organic Farming in NEH region of India'.
The film on  'Transferring wetland to farming land in Manipur' was selected as the Best Institutional Film out of the 407 films received from all over India.
Prof Indira Sarangthem and her team expressed gratitude to Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal, for the initiation and development of Central Farm from Wetland to farming land through sunken bed, raised bed and small & large ponds.
Notably, the development of Central farm, CAU, Imphal started from November 2020 under the leadership of Dr Anupam Mishra. About 15 hectares of low lying area has been successfully developed into farmland.
