WITPLAT celebrates Foundation Day, literary awards distributed

IMPHAL, Feb 21 : Writers' Platform, Manipur (WRITPLAT) celebrated its 1st Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club, Imphal on Wednesday.
The Foundation Day of WRITPLAT was marked by presentation of WRITPLAT Literary Awards, observation of International Mother Language Day and release of two books.
The programme was attended by WRITPLAT Manipur chief patron RK Nayansana Devi,; Eastern Zonal Cultural Council (EZCC), Kolkata, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, former member. Dr Thingbaijam Swarnakumar Singh; social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram; WRITPLAT Manipur president, Yumnam Kumar Singh; WRITPLAT Manipur advisor Mutum Tomba Singh; social activist Amrik Singh Pahwa and BDSA India national secretary, Dr Mahendra Kumar Singh as presidium members.
Manipur University, Manipuri Department, Assistant Professor, Dr Naorem Sanatomba Singh and Manipur International University, Dean, Professor Th Chandramani Singh also attended the programme as resource persons.
As part of the programme, the dignitaries handed over the literary awards of WRITPLAT for the year 2024.
WRITPLAT International Literary Award was presented to Sanaton Hamom from Bangladesh while the RK Pakashana And Haobam Ningol Ningthemcha Ongbi Amureiba Shija Award was given to Naorem Herangamba Mangang of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai and Naorem Meino Singh Ningshing Loinasillon Mana was awarded to RK Nayansana Devi of Palace Compound.
Thingbaijam Khongnem Singh Ningshing Sports Book Award was given to Soram Lokeshwar Singh of Nagamapal RIMS Road and WRITPLAT President's Literary Award was presented to Dr Konthoujam Bimola of MU Quarters.
Also, Kangabam Chaoba Meetei Loinasillon Poetry Award was presented to Dr Yumnam Indrajit Singh of Keishamthong Thangjam Leirak Machin while Heirom Tomba Meitei Ningshing Literary Award was given to Tayenjam Tomba of Laiphrakpam Mayai Leikai and Sagolsem Kokil Ningshing Translation Award was conferred to Gajendra Moirangthem of Kongba Kshetri Leikai.
The awards were presented along with cash prizes and a citation each.
Later, two books titled "Manipur of my dream" authored by Amrik Singh Pahwa and "Self Employment Certificate'' written by Keisham Keshwarjit Singh were released.
A poem recitation session was also held.
