2nd MNCA U-19 Men's CricketYWC, TCMDC cap league campaign with four of four wins

IMPHAL, Feb 19 : YWC, Langthabal and TCMDC, Thongju ended their 2nd MNCA U-19 Men's Cricket league campaign in style by registering their four of four wins today.
YWC defeated CRAU, Khamnam Bazar in the top of the table contest by 2 wickets in a close fight today at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground. With today's result, both the teams qualified for the quarter finals from Group A as group winners and runners.
CRAU won the toss and elected to bat first. They were, however, bundled out for 180 runs in 39.5 overs by YWC who chased down the target in 38.1 overs with 2 wickets left to spare. Ph Jodash 28, E Rohit 28 and H Joyhenba 26 led the scoring for CRAU in an innings which saw Y Achouba (3/17 in 8 overs), Seram Robinson (3/44 in 7.5 overs) and Y Chingkhei Nganba (2/14 in 8 overs) sharing 8 wickets.
In reply, YWC batters had to struggle but contributions from S Robinson 44, H Manikanta 36 and Y Kumar 20 and 35 extras were more than enough for them to seal the victory.
Meanwhile, TCMDC finished on top of Group B by beating Model Club, Chingamakha by 61 runs for the fourth win on the trot at Lairenjam Public Ground and qualified for the quarter finals.
Thomson blazed a slow but significant 100-ball 73 before TCMDC, being put in to bat first, succumbed for 151 runs in 35 overs as N Ronald (3/39), N Biyon (2/23) and Y Suson (2/31) of Model Club ran riot.
TCMDC, however, successfully defended the total by devastating Model Club line up for just 90 runs in 27.4 overs with U Rain (3/8) and L Valindra (3/4) sharing 6 crucial wickets.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, RCA squeezed into the quarter finals from Group C as they trounced ESU by 10 wickets for the third win in four matches.
They bowled out ESU for a paltry total of 84 runs in 39.3 overs riding on Aziz Mirza (3/14), Md Alfash (3/6) and Iliyas (2/8) and chased down the target courtesy of Md Anush 51 and Safwan Ahamed 21.
The day also saw TRAU ending their league campaign with a 12 run victory against PTCC at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
