IPS organises MANIPSYCON 2023

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : The Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), Manipur State Branch, on Saturday organised the 24th Annual Conference of IPS, MANIPSYCON 2023 at the auditorium of JNIMS, Imphal.
The conference was conducted on the theme, "Conflict and resilience" with the aim to explore the intricate relationship between resilience and mental health in conflict situations, shedding light on strategies and considerations essential for promoting well-being amidst adversity.
It was attended by JNIMS,  Director, Prof L Deben Singh; IPS Manipur State Branch president, Prof K Shantibala Devi; JNIMS, Medical Superintendent, Prof Kh Lokeshwor Singh; RIMS, Psychiatry, former HOD, Prof S Gyan-eshwar Sharma and East Zone IPS president, Prof RK Lenin Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof L Deben Singh said, "The road to success is not always easy, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but it's important to face the challenges that may arise in our life".
He asserted that to overcome these challenges, it is important to set clear goals, create a plan of action, and stay focused on the end result.
Highlighting that many people are suffering from mental & health issues due to the prevailing situation of Manipur, Prof L Deben urged all to maintain calm, show restraint and focus on positive activities to keep themselves healthy both physically & mentally.
Later, a souvenir was released and prizes were distributed to the winners of the Painting Competition conducted in connection with World Mental Health Day on October 10.
Certificates and cash wards of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 & Rs 2000 were presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3 position holders respectively. Consolation prizes were also given to 5 students.
