9th MNCA Plate Tournament YWC-P beat MPA by 49 runs to keep knock-out round hopes alive

IMPHAL, Dec 31 : YWC, Patsoi (YWC-P) beat MPA, Thounaojam by 49 runs for their fifth win in 7 Group A matches and to keep their knock-out round hopes alive in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament.
YWC-P won the toss at Lairenjam Public Ground and posted 162 for all wickets down in 34.5 overs after electing to bat first. They defended their lowly total by dismissing MPA for 113 runs in 27.2 overs.
Shitaljit Wangkhem hit a quickfire 51 off 37 balls while Donadoni added 30 off 53 balls to help YWC post 162 runs in their innings in which Yumnam Sheiteendra (5/17 in 6.5 overs) and Th Chinglensana (2/27) shared 7 wickets.
In reply, MPA failed to withstand the prolific bowling performances from Johnson Lai (4/26), S Mangalsana (2/16) and Laishram Yaiphaba (2/13) and bundled out for 113 runs in 27.2 overs despite a late fightback from Yumnam Sheiteendra (42 not out off 42 balls).
Johnson Lai of YWC-P was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, SU, Sagolband United defeated RRCC, Churachandpur by 6 wickets.
RRCC elected to bat first and racked up a massive total of 208/6 thanks to Bineto's leading knock of 54 runs off 28 balls that included 6 fours and 3 sixes and contributions from Louriyam Elan 37 and Irungbam Rahul 36.
The innings saw Keisham Anderson (3/20) pick three wickets as Alen Angom, RK Pritamkumar and RK Philan claimed a wicket apiece.
In reply, RK Pritamkumar (52 not out off 43 balls; 6 fours and 3 sixes) and Nongmeikampam Komol (73 off 41 balls;5 fours and 6 sixes) forged an unbeaten 5th wicket partnership of 141 runs to take SU to winning 212 in 23.4 overs.
Md Irfan, Bineto, L Pravin and L Elan claimed a wicket apiece in this innings.
Nongmeikapam Komol who topscored for SU in the chase was adjudged player of the match.
