7th Thingujam Ongbi Inunganbi Devi Memorial Football Tournament from January 5

IMPHAL, Dec 31 : The 7th edition of the Thingujam Ongbi Inunganbi Devi Memorial Football Tournament is set to commence from January at the ground of Social Workers' Congress. The tournament organised by Social Workers' Congress, Khongman in the league-cum knock-out format is featuring 16-teams clubbed into four groups. Top two teams after the league stage will advance to the knock-out stage of the tournament.
Hosts SWC are clubbed in Group A alongside WPC, Angtha; KBYC, Kshetri Bengoon and SDA, Kyamgei Muslim while Group B features KSC, Kongba; YBC, Langdum; ABA, Kshetrigao and BPYC-A, Panthoibi.
Khagee Club, Kyamgei Mamang Leikai; KYO, Nongthombam Leikai; MMC, Mongkhang Lambi and KYPC, Kyamgei Maning Leikai are clustered in Group C while BPYC-B, Panthoibi are drawn together with BSU, Keirao; FFCCA, Angtha and SYDA, Sabal Leikai in Group D.
The opening match will see SWC, Khongman take on SDA, Kyamgei Muslim. The match starts at 1 pm.
Ksh Chaoba, former Managing Director, Manipur Spinning Mills Corporation and ex-president of SWC; Khongendra Khomdram, Editor, The Sangai Express; Th Bhogen, Lecture at DIET, SCERT, executive member of SWC and the donor of the tournament and A Birendra Singh, former Soil Conservation Officer and president of SWC will grace the inaugural function as dignitaries.
