All India Inter University Championship Rojina shines as MU finish overall third in archery, N William wins walking race bronze

IMPHAL, Dec 30 : Manipur University finished overall third in All India Inter University Archery Championship hosted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar from December 24 to 27 with a haul of 5 medals including four gold and a bronze.
L Rojina of Kakching Khunou College took centrestage as she won three gold medals, one each in the 50 m Indian Round competion with 332 points, overall Indian round competition with 645 points and Elimination Round with a 6-4 margin and a bronze medal in the mixed team event with M Bikash of Pole Star College.
M Bikash won the other gold medal in the Indian Round 30 m competition by amassing 313 points.
The team were led by B Surja Sharma as manager and coaches- K Devananda and H Bijendranath.
Meanwhile, Ningthoukhongjam William Singh of Naorem Birahari College bagged Manipur University a bronze medal in the All India Inter University Athletics Meet 2024 that concluded at Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS), Bhubaneswar.
William won the bronze medal in the 20 km walking race competition with a time of 1:24:01.46  (1 hour, 24 minutes and 1.46 seconds).
Sachin of Mangalore University (1:23: 32.88) topped the competition to win the gold as Deepak Gurjar of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (1:23:42.03) settled for the silver medal.
