9th MNCA Plate Tournament KCDO, THAU cap league campaign on winning notes

IMPHAL, Dec 30 : KCDO, Kongpal and THAU, Thangmeiband capped their Group A campaign in the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament on winning notes today.
At Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KCDO defeated runaway Group A leaders NAPSA, Kha Imphal by 69 runs for the fourth win in 7 matches.
KCDO won the toss and amassed 195 runs for 9 wickets in 35 overs and dismissed NAPSA for 126/8 as two batters had to retire hurt in 21.1 overs.
For KCDO, N Prakash 39, Imran Hafiz 35 and Netajit K 30 led the batting front in the innings that saw Dhanakuber (3/23) and Bipin (2/42) sharing 5 wickets and Y Rocky and H Boney picking a wicket apiece.
For NAPSA, H Boney 29 and L Monjit 21 led the scoring as Netajit (3/29), James (2/7) and Devendro (2/28) shared 7 wickets for KCDO.
Netajit was eventually adjudged player of the match.
THAU meanwhile ended their league campaign with 1 wicket win over SHADOW in an all-Thangmeiband clash. It was the third win for THAU in as many as 7 matches. SHADOW were dismissed for 102 runs in 28.5 overs as they won the toss and opted to bat first and THAU took 19.4 overs to seal the victory with a wicket left to spare.
Kh Devis 19, Arubam Goshan 15 and Md Aziz Khan 12  were the only double digit run getters for SHADOW in their innings as Kh Romesh collected four scalps (4/19 in 6 overs) and Yungkham Ortega (2/15) and Daniand Ningthoujam (2/21) shared another four wickets to dismantle their line up.
In reply, THAU batters also faced the heat but contributions from Thoudam Yoihenba 34 off 52 balls, Khundrakpam Aden 24 and Pukhrambam Hilbert 15 came handy to seal the victory despite Aziz Khan sweeping five wickets (5/13 in 4 overs). SHADOW's Md Noor Muhammad (2/24), Jotinkumar (1/19) and S Loyumba (1/34) were also among the wickets.
