THAU win in 12th IW 2nd Divn League opener

IMPHAL, Dec 29 : THAU, Thangmeiband edged 2-1 past IUFC, Awang Sekmai in the opening match of the 12th Second Division Football League Tournament organised by the Imphal West District Football Association at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi.
The two sides cancelled out one another until Th Anand put IUFC ahead in the 34th minute. THAU drew level in the 40th minute through L Dicboss to make it 1-1 at halftime before Aboton hit the winner in the 73rd minute.
MTSU, Malom were handed a walkover win in the second match as their rivals ESA, Mayang Imphal did not turn up.
