Gun attack decried

IMPHAL, Dec 29 : Condemning the gun attack carried out by unknown miscreants at the residence of RK Bunker at 8 am yesterday at Keishampat Thokchom Leikai, womenfolk staged a sit-in protest at the said locality today.
The protest was jointly organised by Keishampat Thokchom Leikai Meira Paibi and Manipur People’s Club today.
The protestors wielded placards with messages such as "No to gun culture", "We condemn gun attacks in residential areas" and "Let us treat each other with respect and dignity" among others.
Speaking in this connection, Takhelchangbam ongbi Memtombi, joint secretary, Keishampat Thokchom Leikai Meira Paibi informed that yesterday morning unidentified armed individuals fired a few rounds at the residence of RK Bunker at Keishampat Thokchom Leikai.
Decrying the gun attack, she expressed hope that in case of any misunderstanding, the two parties can come together for a dialogue and resolve the issue.
She further appealed to the perpetrators of the attack to refrain from such violent acts in the future.
