IMPHAL, Dec 27 : NCA, Ningthoukhong ended their Group B league stage in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament with a five wicket thrashing of SDC, Laipham Khunou for the 6th win at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Having won five times and conceded once, NCA posted 160/5 while chasing a modest total of 159 runs for 6 wickets in 33 overs amassed by toss winners SDC.
Bobby Yumnam 36, RK Rojeeson 31 not out, Takhellambam Pradeep 23 led the NCA chase after L Sadananda 2/25 picked two wickets and four others shared a wicket apiece in the first innings.
For SDC, Nareshchandra Sanjenbam struck a half century (66 off 82 balls) before Donny claimed two wickets (2/20) as three others picked a wicket apiece.
L Sadananda of NCA was adjudged player of the match.
YWC-P beat SU by 36 runs, keep knock-out round hopes alive
YWC, Patsoi (YWC-P) sealed a 36-run victory over SU, Sagolband at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground for the fourth win in 6 matches and to keep the knock-out round hopes alive.
Put in to bat first, YWC-P amassed 186/3 in 25 overs thanks to remarkable knocks from Ashishkumar Wakongthem 44 not out, M Thoungamba 41 and Wangkhem Shitaljit 30 not out before Laishram Yaiphaba (3/29 in 4 overs), Laikhuram Jagat (3/21) and S Mangalsana (2/21) dismantled SU for 150 runs in 23.5 overs.
A Alen (2/25) and Karam Kennedy (1/30) shared three wickets for YWC-P before N Komol 26, L Naoton 19, and N Ambedkar 18 led the scoring for SU in a lost cause.
Laikhuram Jagat was adjudged player of the match.
