Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25K Bishworjit's fifer in vain as Manipur slump to 171-run loss

IMPHAL, Dec 26 : Manipur slumped to a huge 171-run loss to Goa despite skipper Konthoujam Bishworjit's fifer in the third round Group A match of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 at Dr Soni Stadium, Jaipur today.
Manipur opted to field first and saw Goa gathering 298 for all wickets down in 49.5 overs as Bishworjit Konthoujam (5/49) and Pheiroijam Jotin (3/45) combining well to share 8 crucial wickets. Siddhart starred with a century 101 as Vikash Singh added 94 for Goa.
In reply, Kangabam Priyojit 42, Basir Rahman 25, Ph Jotin 14, L Kishan Singha 13, and Karnajit Yumnam 11 made double digit scores as Amulya Pandrekar (5/20) and Deepraj Gaonkar (2/7) ran riot across the Manipur batting line up.
Manipur will play Odisha in the fourth match on December 28 at Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground, Jaipur.
