NEW DELHI, Dec 24
Former Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has been appointed as the Governor of Manipur, an official notification said on Tuesday.
Bhalla's appointment has come at a time when Manipur is reeling under a resurgence in ethnic violence that has rocked the State since May 2023.
Ajay Kumar Bhalla will replace Lakashman Prasad Acharya, who assumed the office on July 31 this year, as Manipur Governor.
Also, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, who has often been seen at loggerheads with the State Government over a range of issues, has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.
