Veteran Football : VSAI blank Sunday FC 3-0 to top Group A

IMPHAL, Dec  24 : VSAI crushed Sunday FC by 3-0 goals thanks to a brace from Kh Ratan to finish Group A toppers in the ongoing 4th Dr Moirangthem Manaoton and M Chandrasakhi Devi Memorial Football Championship 2024.
VSAI went ahead after 16 minutes thanks to T Shyam before Kh Ratan scored back to back goals in the 23rd and the 29th minutes to make it 3-0.
It was the second win for VSAI in as many as four matches that also included a draw and finished on top of Group A table with the same 7 points with Sunday FC but with better goal count (9 against 5).
Later in the day, EMVFC fought back from a goal down to play out a 1-1 draw with FLAM.  E Ratan scored it for FLAM in the 23rd minute before K Sanatomba scored the equaliser for EMVFC in the 38th minute.
With the result, EMVFC finished third in the Group table on 6 points as FLAM finished fifth and bow out of the championship.
