Foundation day of Rupmahal Theatre held

IMPHAL, Dec 24 The 82nd foundation day of Rupmahal Theatre was held yesterday along with the opening of the 23rd Rupmahal Artist Memorial Drama Festival 2024-25 at Rupmahal Theatre.
This was further accompanied by the presentation of the 32nd and 33rd Meitram Bira Award. A souvenir was also released on the occasion.
The event was graced by Kangjam Radhakumar, retd IAS as the chief guest and Hidangmayum Achouba Sharma, secretary, Rupmahal Theatre as the functional president.
Notably, theatre director Loitongbam Brajamohon Singh and Brahmacharimayum ongbi Binodhini Devi were conferred the 32nd and 33rd Meitram Bira Award respectively.
The award came with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a citation and a shawl.
Marking the beginning of the drama festival, Ekaikhangda Maithaba was showcased. The festival will conclude on January 11, 2025.
Separately, Arts and Culture Commissioner M Joy kicked off a five-day art fair at City Convention Centre, Palace Compound yesterday in connection with the golden jubilee celebration of Arts Society Manipur.
Altogether, 10 stalls were set up at the art fair, including ones from Manipur University, Manipur University of Culture and IRE among others.
Ksh Jugindro, vice-president, Arts Society Manipur was also present on the occasion.
