Security forces recover more weapons

IMPHAL, Dec 22 : Security forces recovered 25 weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Bishnupur districts.
PIB (Defence Wing), in a statement that Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered one .303 sniper rifle (modified), one .22 rifle, two single barrel rifle, one 9mm pistol, one IED, 100 gm commercial explosive, two tube launchers and other war-like stores  from Nepali Khutti, Laimaton Thangbuh village in Kangpokpi district, on December 19.
Indian Army and Manipur Police also seized one machine gun, two INSAS rifles, two self loading rifles, one .32 pistol, one 2 inch mortar, one 12-bore single barrel gun, a heavy calibre launcher and two pompi  guns along with ammunitions and war like materials from the fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts  on December 18 and 19, it said.
In Churachandpur district, Indian Army and Manipur Police established a Joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post  at Torbung Bazar on December 20 and apprehended a suspected miscreant who was fleeing with an unregistered .32 mm pistol, it said.
PIB (DW) further said that Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police carried out another successful operation in Wathalambi area on December 21, recovering two 7.62 mm modified sniper rifles, one 51mm  mortar, a modified grenade launcher, four IEDs and grenades. The operation also led to the apprehension of two individuals and the recovery of a carbine machine gun.
