Vijay Hazare Trophy Manipur suffer 182 run loss to Uttarakhand

IMPHAL, Dec  21 : Manipur suffered a 182-run loss to Uttarakhand in their opening match (Group A) of the Vijay Hazare Trophy today at KL Saini Ground, Jaipur.
Manipur had to regret their decision to field first as Uttarakhand exploited Manipur's poor bowling performance to  gather 365 runs for 4 wickets in 50 overs before bowling out Manipur for 183 runs for the comfortable win. Yuvraj Chaudhary struck a 143-ball 151 for Uttarakhand as Kunal Chandela 71 off 53 balls and Dikshanshu Negi 51 off 26 balls shone with quickfire fifties.
For Manipur, skipper Bishworjit Konthoujam returned with the best bowling figures of 2/60 as RK Rex and Kishan Singha chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Chasing the big total, Manipur had a stuttering start before getting bowled out for 183 runs in 46.2 overs. Jotin Pheiroijam 37 off 73 balls and Kishan Singha 31 off 44 balls were the main run getters for Manipur.
For Uttarakhand, Himanshu Bisht (3/41 in 10 overs) enjoyed a three wicket haul as Angrim Tiwari (2/14 in 4.2 overs) and Swapnil Singh (2/22 in 10 overs) shared four wickets.
Manipur will play Jharkhand in the next match on December 23 at Dr Soni Stadium, Jaipur.
