Many line up to join/rejoin Cong

IMPHAL, Nov 7: Many well known political figures including ex-MLAs Dr Khwairakpam Loken (Sagolband AC) and Kikhonbou Newmai (Tamei AC) have decided to join Congress party.
Sources said that a reception ceremony would be held at Congress Bhavan on Friday in honour of the individuals including ex-MLAs and ex-ADC Members who have decided to join/rejoin Congress party.
Apart from Dr Kh Loken and Kikhonbou Newmai, ex-ADC Members of Tamei AC namely; Tadinang Gangmei, Ramwangdin Abonmai, MP Gwang, NPP active members R Kiudi and Adim Thiumai would formally join Congress party on November 8.
The reception function scheduled tomorrow would be attended by MPCC president K Meghachandra, CLP leader Okram Ibobi, CWC Member Gaikhangam, Deputy CLP leader K Ranjit, Congress MPs, MLAs and many other Congress leaders, said the sources.
Meanwhile, one Congress leader told The Sangai Express that many well known political personalities from different political parties including BJP would be joining Congress party shortly one after another.
He went on to claim that the Congress party has been growing stronger and stronger in Manipur.
The candidates fielded and supported by ruling BJP in Inner Manipur PC and Outer Manipur PC suffered crushing defeats in the last Lok Sabha elections on account of the people’s extreme dislike of BJP, said the Congress leader.
He pointed out that Congress party wrested both the Inner and Outer Lok Sabha seats with huge margins.
