IMPHAL, Nov 6: Manipur's Dr Reshma Sougaijam represented India at the "3rd International Conference on Midwifery and Neonatal Care" held at Bangkok, Thailand.
The event held at Grand Mercure Atrium from November 4-6, 2024 witnessed the participation of experts in the field of midwifery, neonatal care and women's health from across the globe who presented various research works at the event.
Manipur's Dr Reshma Sougaijam who is working as a public health specialist under Manipur Health Service presented her research paper based on identifying Severe Acute Malnutrition by measuring the mid-upper arm circumference of children below 5 years in one of the districts in Maharashtra.
Dr Reshma at the conference said, the cut off set by World Health Organization is based on African studies and cannot be implemented to children in India.
She further stated that, her research paper will help to identify malnourished children in India.
