Major Gulu’s Lanna Thouram solemnised

JIRIBAM, Nov 4: Lanna Thouram of RPF/PLA’s Major Oinam Babu Meitei alias Gulu was solemnised today  at his birthplace, Kadamtala, Jiribam.
Major Gulu was killed in an encounter with Kuki militants near Border Pillar number 72 of Manipur-Myanmar border on October 23, 2024.
Attended by a large number of people, the Lanna Thouram of Major Gulu was solemnised as per Meitei traditions and beliefs.
People offered floral tributes to the photograph of Major Oinam Babu Meitei alias Gulu.
A large number of people including members of Jiribam-based CSOs and Meira Paibi organisations attended the Lanna Thouram.
With hundreds of people, a similar Lanna Thouram ceremony was also held at Heirok where the mortal remains of Major Gulu were laid to rest.
