Two held for hoax video

IMPHAL, Nov 5: Two individuals have been arrested by police for making and uploading a hoax video on social media which claimed that they were assaulted and 500 chicks they were transporting have been confiscated by some unknown persons who wore black clothes.
According to the video, the incident allegedly happened at Phubala at around 6.30 pm on November 4.
As the particular video clip went viral, Moirang police conducted an enquiry and a good number of witnesses were examined.
After the enquiry, it was ascertained that the video was a hoax and fabricated.
On questioning one Iphamayum Ramijuddin (30) s/o late Md Basiruddin of Kwakta Ward No 8, he admitted that he concocted a fabricated story and the video was recorded by one Heibokmayum Thoiba (29) s/o Abdul Hakim of Kwakta Ward No 8.
It was Heibokmayum Thoiba who uploaded the video on social media.
Subsequently, Iphamayum Ramijuddin and Heibokmayum Thoiba were arrested, sources said.
