IMPHAL, Nov 27 : Manipur emerged champions of the 68th National School Games Sepaktakraw for U-19 girls hosted by Nagaland in Kohima.
Manipur who had beaten hosts Nagaland 15-8, 15-8 in the league stage eased to a 15-6, 15-7 win in the final clash today to earn the top-honour of the 17-team competition.
Earlier in the quarter-final staged today, Manipur defeated Odisha 15-8, 15-5 before getting better of Bihar 15-8, 15-8 in the semi-final to book the final berth.
Notably Manipur team comprising Konjengbam Poni, Khuraijam Devika, Yumnam Malemnganbi, Mayengbam Lataluxmi and Chanam Jenifer topped the group league stage by defeating Delhi 15-5, 15-6, Nagaland (scoreline mentioned earlier) and Rajasthan 15-9, 15-8 and qualified for the quarterfinals as Group winners along with group runners Nagaland.
