Never in history has a piece of hand-spun and hand-woven cloth played such a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the country. In Bharat, clothes have a historical significance as they are the voice of the people who make them and wear them.Khadi has been our legacy of Freedom, deeply significant in economic, political and social contexts that arerepresentative of the sustainable philosophypassed down by generations of Indians.
Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi started theKhadi movement to weave the Indian subcontinent together in early 20th century, making the ‘Charkha’ a national symbol. (To be contd)
