IMPHAL, Nov 26: The recent incidents of carnage blatantly violated all the laws of war and all relevant international organisations ought to condemn these incidents. The cold blooded murder of innocent women and children was a flagrant act of terrorism and a crime against humanity, the Central Committee, Pambei-led UNLF remarked.
It said that the carnage violated the International Humanitarian Law, international human rights instruments and the Common Article 3 of the Geneva Convention 1949.
Kuki-Zo leaders must be held accountable for these heinous crimes and all of them must be punished as per law after a fair trial, it said.
Conveying solidarity to all the victim families of the violent crisis, the Central Committee asserted that there must be a line of distinction between Kuki-Zo terrorists and the Kuki-Zo people.
The 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs, all the militant groups affiliated to Kuki National Organisation (KNO), United People’s Front (UPF), Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU), Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), and armed mercenaries from Myanmar are enemies of Manipur including the Kuki-Zo people, the Central Committee asserted.
Kuki-Zo leaders are responsible for the war but the common people of Kuki-Zo people joined the war under compelling circumstances.
The common Kuki-Zo people will one day stand up against their leaders when they get the opportunity as exemplified by the Thadou community, it said.
The idea of Manipur encompasses all the communities who have been living together for centuries viz; Thadou, Paite, Gangte, Hmar, Kabui, Tangkhul, Mao, Kom, Rongmei, Anal, Chiru, Chothe, Maring etc.
Manipur will never be complete without Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Ukhrul, Senapati and Chandel, it said.
“It will be a grave mistake to throw away the baby with the bath water. We must face the current challenges with all our strength but we must not antagonise the entire communities else the sinister plot of Kuki-Zo leaders will come out victorious”, it asserted.
Creation of buffer zones at the adjoining areas of hills and the valley with the blessing of the Government of India is driven by an evil intention to demarcate land areas anew, it said.
The Government of India has been deliberately overlooking the future impacts of the ongoing conflict.
The Western countries’ plan to check the growing influence of Chinese geopolitics in the region by creating a Zionist or Christian theocratic State will ultimately pose a grave threat to the National security of India. Moreover, it will pose serious challenges to all indigenous communities, the Central Committee warned.
The vision of creating an Akhand Bharat (Greater India) as envisaged by the Doval Doctrine will be nipped in the bud if an independent Zionist State is created in the region.
India’s security think-tank must understand that the Kuki-Zo terrorists will prove to be a serious security threat to India in the long run even if they serve India’s interest temporarily, it said.
The outfit will never recognise any separate administration, union territory or territorial council carved out of Manipur. At the same time, the outfit is always open to the idea of co-existence through power sharing and resource sharing.
The outfit will fight against all communal political demands and exclusivist political agendas, the Central Committee asserted.
The outfit decided to hold dialogue with New Delhi only after the Government of India agreed to respect the distinct history of Manipur and protect its territorial boundary, it said.
